peter walker a.r.b.s. a.r.b.s.a

peter walker’s artwork has been described as ‘absorbing’ and ‘powerful’ and has been tipped for “potential international significance” and “success on the world market”. primarily a sculptor, his draughtsmanship is a means of expression and experimentation, which results in the production of what are quite stunning individual images.

2000 saw the unveiling of his first major sculptural work, a monument to sir izaac walton, author of “the compleat angler”, one of the most important writers in english literature. 2005 saw the unveiling of a second major public work in burton upon trent. his sculpture, a twelve foot tall representation of the goddess isis, has been described as “magnificent”. 2009 has seen the unveiling of his most recent work, a monument to eric evan mbe, former captain of england rugby union.

it is obvious that his work stems from the history of, and is in the tradition of british and european art. he balances what he describes as the “abstract symphonic qualities” of the world around us.

he is currently working on a number of important sculpture projects. these include a project to create a monument to the cornish tin miners, and three monumental works to celebrate the tercentenary of the birth of dr samuel johnson.

peter is an elected associate of the royal society of british sculptors.
