the pure quality of dagmar bartolomé’s paintings is unquestionable. if painting can be monumental then that is her achievement.  it is easy to become absorbed and engrossed in that which she produces. her work echos the direction of europan painting during the 20th century, underlined by subtle contemporary influence.

dagmar lives and works in germany.  she studied german language and literature before continuing her studies in theoretical and practical fundamentals of painting.  since 1993 she has regularly exhibited her work in munich and other locations in bavaria, southern germany.  since 1995 she has also studied photography.

“cracks in a building are a declaration of love from the edifice to the earth”, said the spanish architect josep benet.  buildings and the earth attempt to adjust to each other in an intensive manner, thereby allowing cracks to form. something similar occurs, when a painting crystallizes out of my chosen materials".

dagmars original paintings are produced through the manipulation of a variety of materials in order to capture the sentiments she expresses in her creative life.
