celia crampton is one of the uk’s most gifted botanical artists. her award winning paintings are highly collectible and are rendered not only with striking accuracy, but at times with a subtle sense of humour and occasionally with a sense of pathos.

the stunning collection of prints 52 offer pay tribute to an artistic career that shows a dedication to her subject.
 
 

celia started her career in architectural stained glass, and worked for ten years in the canterbury cathedral stained glass workshop as a conservator, glass painter and lead glazier.

she studied botanical drawing at the corcoran school of art, washington, and botanical painting with the english gardening school at the chelsea physic gardens.

celia won the mary grob botanical award at the chelsea art society annual exhibition, july 2003, and the royal horticultural society gold medal at the bbc gardener’s world live show, birmingham nec, june 2004. 

her original work is highly sought after and examples are present in the collections of the hunt institute of botanical documentation, pittsburgh, owner of america’s largest botanical collection and the royal botanic gardens, kew.
